So while working on multiple things, I saw this video from the Cracked.com people -
And I just sort of pondered. And pondered...
And from inside me, an old me that had thought of that long ago, I realized that the video was so wrong.
Before I go into my thoughts on the best, I want to give my opinions on the worst for me.
Flight-
Hate heights. Makes my knees hurt. Might be something from my past (I broke my arm when I was in Pre-K from going head first down a pole) and I just react to it. But Flight, as cool as it could seem, looks like a good way to get yourself lost or hurt very quickly (hot, cold, fast, not fast enough). So no thanks.
Telepathy-
I have a hard enough time dealing with my own insane thoughts, which are multitasking multiple things at once. 25% Memories. 25% Creativity. 25% Art. And like 278% about Girls.
What? I did my math right.
Duplication-
Er... no. I don't want to step in that mind thought.
Now for the ones they also talked about on the video.
Invisibility-
See Hollow Man. Really enough said. But even if I could control it... not much that I would do with it.
Regeneration (Wolverine and Deadpool style)-
Truthfully, the downs they said in the video didn't seem that down. You could tell they never read Deadpool when they made that video though, cause if your arm got stuck like that, you would just keep ripping it off and free yourself. Or if you fell down a mineshaft or well, climb back up.
The thing that bothers me though is what part of you heals up. I mean, is it your head or heart?
I say that because what happens when you get split in two perfectly?
Like does only one heal back up? Or both?
And if both, do they heal up exactly like before, or because the brain has been severed in half it can only create a mind that has those memories that side of the brain. So when they heal, do they become two halves of a person? Two people with different attitudes and memories?
Argh, too confusing.
But even if that was a fact, their is still a major flaw...
Drowning and space.
You can heal up from poison and cuts and sickness... but can you heal up from too much water?
What could you do? Grow grills? I don't think it works that way.
I know Wolverine "could", but I find that just grasping straws for his power.
And what about a lack of air? Your body stops and that is it. It can't heal from that.
Unless you get air back into that body. So maybe it just freezes up until it gets restarted.
Instant kills would be a bitch.
Teleportation-
Why is that lame? They never really explained. My only problem would be controlling it. That seems really hard to even try and do if I had the skills to do it. You could Harry Potter it and do that whole "think, feel, move" thing... but I think I would prefer to drive anyway.
Mind Control-
Truthfully, I will go more into this one for another story, but let me just say that karma is a bitch. What goes around, comes around. And I don't want to be there for the repercussions.
Not to mention the guilt factor.
But the ones I am interested in, are these-
Benders (telekinesis, element control) -
These I think would be amazing. Simple in design.
I can see that the government would be trying to experiment on you if they found out though.
Which is why I like the 'devil fruit' approach to bending.
Able to mix power and skill into one form.
If I could have that Rubber ability, I would be satisfied...
Ultra Luck-
I can see this being the ultimate super power, but I don't know how it would be considered luck as.
Could you control it?
And what could be registered as being lucky?
Still, neat idea with possibilities.
Time Control-
Ok, like DM, I don't believe in time, but lets just say that if it could be controlled, it would be super awesome. But nothing could be done with it. You would just freeze as well, comprehending your demise until you unfreeze yourself from falling off a cliff.
You could rewind... but then you have the Butterfly Effect. And that was a shitty movie.
Future Sight-
I know a lot of people blasted against Next (with Nick Cage) but his power in it is very cool.
I would find that really helpful and a nice way to prevent a lot of slip ups.
Which brings me to my second best power.
"Save and Load"-
The reset button, the GTA effect, the game playing power, or what I think would be a better term the Save and Load power.
Think about it, Groundhog Day, but controlled.
You can learn all you need in a few months, then reset that month with that knowledge and do things over again. I would have so much fun with this. Go completely crazy like GTA and then when things get too bad, reset and play nice.
Or go to the Casino with all your money, play some games, and if you lose, retry again and again.
Or relive a memory over and over again.
Or restart life. Immortality, without the curse.
The only downside I can think of is the memory overload, the multiple timelines... and the timeline stuck.
After you have done everything... that is it.
Nothing new to be made...
But that is life. And with the Save and Load power, you can seriously live it to the fullest, without the responsibility of a super power.
But my top power is one I created back in 1999 with my first character.
Experience Bonus ( DBZ / Video Game Effect )-
Just like a video game character, the more you do, the more powerful you get. You gain points for actions and then when you level up, you get a prize. Sometimes it's a new move, sometimes a new power.
Every Level up is a regain of strength and energy.
And the higher the Level, the more super human you become.
You can start from Human, to Advanced, then Super Human, then Extraordinary, and could even reach God Like. And who knows when the limit break is.
G has been asking that for 14 years. And he is still going...
But that is for another day.
Later~
Will
