Life Update... because I need to write.

I'm going to write out an update on what's been going on with me these last few weeks and what's been going on in my head as well.  And some pictures as well.

I guess it started almost 2 months ago, after I found my new apartment.
I've been feeling completely exhausted.  Both mentally and physically.
(Mostly from dealing with a dryer...)
Now, through all this time I have been working at the frame shop almost non-stop.  The time I do have off (Sunday) is usually spent doing other things that take me away from the apartment and work on other things.
It's been a slow recovery...  and it hinders my creativity input.   Not my ideas, just my energy to create.

I've been wanting to do a new fire shot series, or a new Pyromantic (hopefully with Susy again), or even finish the first Pyromantic pictures by actually finish sketching one out as a painting or color pencil.
However, before I can do that I have to finish my office... and it looks like a bomb went off in the middle of it.  And every time I try to work in it, I feel like I need a break.
Which usually leads me to either movies, games, or even plays.

I also have to write a little about a little play I saw, at a place I hadn't been before...

At the Overtime Theater, due to the request of my model/friend who recommend it to me (mostly because she was in it) I saw -

     FAYE DRUMMOND by Tom Rowan

"Faye Drummond, the trophy wife of the fifth-richest man in America, lives in luxury in a penthouse overlooking Central Park. She’s the woman who has everything, but she wants the one thing she can’t have: her handsome stepson, Paul Letos. With apologies to Euripides and Racine, FAYE DRUMMOND updates the Greek myth of Phaedra and Hippolytus to contemporary New York, with uproarious results."

     And it was FUN!
I like it better as just a comedy, but it has this black drama (it's the Greek part, of course) that just threw me out of the story.  The main character Faye is also not really a likeable person, but that is the idea of the story... not my favorite kind of story cause it didn't feel like it flowed that well.  The comedy was great, but the drama almost seemed forced.  But that also stemmed from the roots of it being a modern Greek mythology, and there are few Greek stories that I actually like.
However, the best part of this play, and that made this so fun and enjoyable for me were THE PLAYERS.  The energy and attitude the put into this play had won me over with every inflection and nicely timed statements that worked really well as a dark comedy (which is my favorite type of comedy).  You could tell that they loved the art and showed a passion for it.

Also (as Susy put it), there was boobs.  Really, really nice boobs.  Wish I took pics...
*SMACK to the face*  Yeah, I deserved that.

Strangely enough, after that show, I had the sudden urge to try and write a 6 person screen play on "Scared Sheetless" or most commonly known as Beetlejuice.  It would be dirty, break 4th wall jokes, and have some tricks to it... an update on the movie, TV cartoon, and even some modern new twists.
Don't know why... just came to me.

And then I had to go back to work... and then back home to clean.

However, as much as I needed to stay and finish cleaning and unpacking, I had to go to the Texas Renaissance Festival.  I usually go every year with my family, but last year I couldn't because I was still recovering from the fire damages and having to find a new home so quickly.  So even though I was practically in the same position (minus the fire), I felt like I needed a break.

And I had a great time with the family-

     It was an awesome time.

I was glad but tired again, and now I've recovered and finished a major part of my home.
But... I did the mistake of started to watch Once Upon a Time as I organized my stuff...

...and it pisses me off.
I mean, really?  What the hell, show?  Any writer who watches this should be feeling pain and anger at this.  This... this is awful.   They combine all these fairytale stories (with Disney inflections) and then the do that Lost / Arrow flashback stuff with two storyline, and then make all these connections to previous stories that just make me cringe in disgust.  I get how they are trying to make it a magical experience based in a real world setting... but why did they combine these stories?  This isn't like Dr. Who which are different planets or galaxies or timelines, but "magic".  FUCK YOU MAGIC, CAN YOU MAGIC SOME FUCKING SENSE CAUSE YOU MAKE AS MUCH SENSE AS WHY YOU MADE RUMPELSTILTSKIN INTO ONE OF THE MAIN VILLAINS AND MADE BELLE CARE ABOUT HIM CAUSE HE WAS THE BEAST, WHAT FUCKING SENSE DOES...

     *SMACK*  ...I deserved that too.

And another note (before any of this actually happened) I had some stressful situation about a wrong package that was sent to me.  I finally took care of it, but dealing with it almost snapped me.  Just a crappy day that piled on and on and on (it included the dryer situation I mentioned before.
But recently, that was fixed and I had the time to finally try out a new game.  More specifically, the newest Batman game, Arkham Origins.

My review is short, but in three parts -
Gameplay - Buggy and some problems, but alright.
Story - OH MY GOD, YOU NEED TO PLAY THIS NOW, IT IS SO GOOD.
     Boss battles - eh...

Not a very long game for the main story line, but it has it's gem moments that really make me recommend this to others.  But the lack of females in this is kinda... noticeable.  Like there is only 2 or 3 of them...
But...

I know, I know... let me.

    *SMACK*

All kidding aside and on a brighter note, even though I work in retail and will still be busy until the new year starts, Thanksgiving and Christmas are coming up.  I have my gifts for most of my friends and family, and I keep myself trying to move forward and get things done.

Much love for the seasons and for all who I care about who take the time to read the mind of some crazy man who wishes he had some more time.
     Later.

  1. Nice! I'm glad things have been going good for you overall! But man, I feel you about that dryer situation. XD I can't get it hooked up to the hole in the wall where all the hot air is supposed to go. Like I can get behind it and put everything together, but it won't tighten tight enough. Grrr... I need to get somebody's help with it. =/

    1. Yeah, I got the parts I needed a few days ago and finally was able to do my own laundry at my apartment for the first time. Maybe you need a new part?
