So no go on Turtles. I'll have to throw my towel at it though, because when I went to go see it, it was packed with 7 year old children and younger. But I heard it's not good.
Better than Transformers, but more focus on April and not on the Turtles.
And what did I say-
"But do I want her to be a main focus in the movie?
No. I want Turtles. I want Ninjas, and I want fighting.
I don't care about April."
And what did they do? Make it about April.
Fuck...
BUT!
At least I have Guardians of the Galaxy to soften my blow.
Because it paid off on that being a good movie!
So what was I talking about... oh yeah.
Side Characters
Another thing that bothers me is that they have these big name actors for these minor characters.
The Nova group, with Glenn Close and John Reilly, have a minor role in the flick even though they are the main people to be saved. I also feel kinda bad for Benicio del Toro as the Collector because he was only in it for 5 minutes.
But I do say that John Reilly is a good minor character, with enough development for you to care about. Shame he's probably going to die.
...oh...yeah. Er... He's playing the equivalent of the Green Lantern Alien giving the ring.
Yeah, they could go that rout.
It's a Nova thing.
But the shining gem in this movie is Michael Rooker.
Rooker plays Yondu, a bandit leader with a very special arrow.
Now, besides the design, the whole time I was watching his scenes I was wondering who he was and what the pay off with the arrow was going to be.
The payoff was worth it. Sweet glorious payoff...
But I kept wondering who he was, so I looked him up.
Remember that picture I put up in the first part? The one of the Guardians of the Galaxy in 69?
You see that blue guy with the red Mohawk and with the bow and arrow.
That's Yondu. The alien version of Hawkeye and Turok.
SO... HE WAS AN ORIGINAL GUARDIAN!!!
That smile at the end has a whole new meaning doesn't it?
Makes you kinda like it more?
Also, Knowhere. Amazing! Looks so much better than the comic but just as cool~
Also Stan Lee as a Xandarian ladies' man. Cool.
And Lloyd Kaufman as an inmate... what? The guy who directed and made this?!
I'm also told that Nathan Fillion and Rob Zombie did cameo voices.
And Seth Green did The Duck.
Which I won't talk about...
Seriously, no I won't.
Villains
Now this is my major draw back. I wasn't completely set with Ronan as a villain. He felt like he was either to serious or not serious enough. It seemed that a lot of stuff was cut out for his story and he was just a very bland villain.
However~
Matt had made a point to me that I have to share.
"You don't need to know this villain. He is an asshole child and family killer extremist terrorist. I don't want to know his story, I don't want to know his past. He is scum and he needs to die. They kill him, they move on. No back story, no development, just a bad guy."
That... I have nothing to say to that. That was a brilliant answer, and I had to share it.
Also, the Doctor Who girl make a nice villain, but she seems to be just sequel bait.
Also, I like Josh Brolin as Thanos. It's not overdone, it's just the right amount of intimidation.
But with that in mind, we get to the~
Story
I like the story, but if you simplify the story, taking out the character developement, this is the main story-
Main character steals item for bad guy.
Female comes in to steal item main character.
Other character come in to take in Main character.
Chaos in sues, they all get arrested.
They escape jail with item and go to place to sell item.
Find out what item really is and debate on doing right thing.
Villains come and steal item back.
Main characters talk and decide to fight back.
Bad guy almost wins. Then they almost lose.
Then main character gets item back.
Good guy wins.
...that's it.
But the character development is the best. And that's where the writing shines.
Definitely worth re-watching.
So what do we have to look forward to? In the Marvel Universe?
Looks good! I mean how could this go wrong?
Oh...
oh.........
ooooooooooooooooooooh...................................
Later~

Doctor Who girl? You mean Nebula? I actually liked her a little.
ReplyDeleteOh my gosh at that last part though!
Yeah, Karen Gillan aka Amy Pond from Doctor Who. Hard to tell without her hair and accent.
DeleteYou mean the Ghost Rider part? Yeah, that's how weird the original series got.
Oh. I didn't know that was her. I don't watch Doctor Who much. I've only seen a few episodes of the first doctor.
DeleteYeah that was weird. XD Did you see the part at the end of the movie too though? Lol
You mean the "duck"? Yeah, that was Seth Green. I wouldn't mind since it was a parody of Donald Duck to begin with and now since it's owned by the people who own Donald Duck... I don't think it'll go far.
DeleteI didn't think so either but I heard people talking about them maybe making a movie. XD
DeleteI don't think it's going to be anything recent if they do, but I hope they think better of it.
DeleteYeah, same. I never actually watched the first one, but I've seen the Nostalgia Critic's review. XD
